Nikolay Aleksandrov from class 11b and Darin Zlatkov from class 11d of the National Professional Gymnasium of Precision Engineering and Optics "Lomonosov" took first places in the second and third competition groups of the technical drawing olympiad. 118 students from the country participated in the national round of the olympiad.
The competition, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science, stimulates and deepens students' interest in technical drawing.
In the first competition group, students from PPMS "Nancho Popovich" - Shumen and SU "Dr. Petar Beron" - Kostinbrod were distinguished for their performance, while in the second and third, in addition to the students from "Lomonosov", representatives of PGTE "Henry Ford" in Sofia and PGME Burgas were also awarded.
"You are all winners not because you are at the olympiad, but because you have chosen technical vocational education", Deputy Minister of Education and Science Eng. Tanya Mihaylova addressed the students.
10 laureates were selected, eight of whom are in the second competition group and two in the third competition group.
Among them is Ivo Georgiev from , who is in independent form of study at PGMT "Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov" in Plovdiv. He has participated in the last five national olympiads and received excellent grades, thanks to his will and ability to combine study and work. Theodora Velcheva from the same gymnasium during her five-year study in the specialty "Software Engineering" has not studied the subject technical drawing according to the curriculum, but has strong motivation and also achieved good results.
Traditionally, the Technical University of Sofia is a co-organizer of the event of the MES, which this year also took care of the implementation of the two-day program of the olympiad.
Among the official guests of the event were experts from the MES and the Regional Inspectorate of Education - Sofia-City, the management and representatives of the departments of the Technical University of Sofia, as well as the sponsors of the olympiad. In addition to the competitive part, the participants visited laboratories at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of TUS and observed various presentations.
