8 student projects awarded at Hack TUES 3

From March 24 to 26, at the capital's Technological School "Electronic Systems" (TUES) the third edition of the student programming competitionHack TUES. Hack TUES is the first hackathon in Bulgaria organized by students for students. It has become a tradition for the technological school and this year brought together 136 students united in 31 teams, who competed with projects on the topic „Art && Creativity“. During the three days of the hackathon, the teams worked on developing a concept and a demonstrative project on the topic related to art and creative activities. They were advised by volunteer mentors - professionals who graduated from TUES, teachers, and representatives of the companies that supported the hackathon.

 Total 8 school projects were awarded at Hack TUES 3. The first place was won by the fun game for Android Artstealer       by the team "Zor", including students from 11th, 10th, and 8th grades. Simulation of a genetic algorithm Micromanipulator of the 10th graders from the "To6o" team was awarded second place. Third place was won by the project of 8th graders from the team „Top8" for a web application for creating and editing images Image Maker, which works on any platforms.

The three teams also received awards from the hackathon partners. They will be able to visit the offices of Dopamine, SAP, TelebidPro, and VMware. The grand winners from Team "Zor" will be able to complete their project with a team from TelebidPro and received an individual sum for purchasing hardware and one free semester at SoftUni.                                                                                                                                                                                    

Special heatingadi received also the web application Tarina for collaborative story creation (team "Pu6ki") and the projects Project FUN – a website for drawing competitions ("Ninja Turtles"), Motika Motors - a 4-wheel robot with autonomous navigation ("Geko Snek"), a social network for sharing creative ideas Visual Delight ("To_si_e_za_nas"), Made2Make - a robot that draws analog and digital circuits and boards based on a given image ("Programartists").

The hackathon is made possible thanks to the support of Dopamine, SAP, TelebidPro, VMware, Nemetschek Bulgaria, Astea Solutions, CloudBalkan, Musala Soft, Chaos Group, and Smartcom Bulgaria.
