Two students from TU-Sofia have been awarded the "Student of the Year" prize for 2019

Students from the Technical University – Sofia won the "Student of the Year" award for 2019. The competition was organized by the National Representation of Student Councils and took place under the patronage of the Minister of Education and Science, Krassimir Valchev. Each year, students in 15 educational fields are honored. Ivan Marinov was awarded the highest prize – "Student of the Year", while Simona Mitova from the Republic of North Macedonia received the "Best Foreign Student of the Year" award. They are fourth-year students pursuing a bachelor's degree in the Department of Thermal Engineering and Nuclear Energy at the Faculty of Energy and Power Engineering. The awarded students have excellent academic records, are scholarship holders of Kozloduy NPP EAD, and have achieved significant scientific results at both national and international levels. They are active members in research projects funded by the Scientific Research Fund on issues related to environmental protection in energy production, supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Silviya Boicheva and Senior Lecturer Dr. Eng. Denitsa Zgureva, faculty members at TU-Sofia. The official award ceremony took place on December 16, 2019, at the National Student House.
