The Minister of Youth and Sports, Krasen Kralev, sent a special congratulatory address to the participants of the Summer University Games, which are opening tomorrow near the mouth of the Kamchiya River. "We encourage such initiatives related to the physical activity of young people, because we believe that this is one of the ways to build them as responsible and full-fledged citizens of our society," the congratulatory message states.
The fourth edition of the event gathers over 400 students by the sea, representatives of 12 higher education institutions. From August 25 to 29, they will crown the champions in seven sports: beach soccer, beach volleyball, beach tennis, beach relay, 3x3 basketball, table tennis, and swimming.
The host of the forum is again the Sanatorium-Health Complex "Kamchiya". It provides its excellent sports base with great conditions for the students: a 50-meter swimming pool, a huge multi-functional hall with an athletic track, numerous fields for beach sports, and several outdoor courts.
The ceremonial opening of Kamchiya2015 is tomorrow, Tuesday, August 25, at 8:00 PM in the Amphitheater of the complex. The next day, competitions in the group stages of the individual sports begin. The finals of the expected beach disciplines, which traditionally attract the most interest, are on Saturday morning. The same evening, the Summer University Games will be closed with a ceremonial event again in the Amphitheater near the beach.

"What has happened in recent years proves that university sport is at a very high level both at international events and at our domestic events," Assoc. Prof. Djurov added.
Official guests of the event were: Vili Lilkov - Member of Parliament and Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission on Children, Youth and Sports, Vladimir Kochin - Executive Director of the "Russian World" Foundation, Stanka Shopova - Executive Director of the Kamchia Sports Complex (SOC), and Valentin Zayakov - PhD from the Directorate "Coordination and Control of Sports Training" at the Ministry of Education and Science.
Among the representatives of the academic community who honored the event were the Rector of TUD "Todor Kableshkov" Prof. Petar Kolev, Assoc. Prof. Daniela Todorova - Deputy Rector and Chairman of the University Sports Club at TUD "Todor Kableshkov", and Prof. Petar Zografov - Member of the Control Commission of FISU.

First competition day
Beach soccer, beach tennis, volleyball, 3x3 basketball and swimming were played on the first competition day of the IV Summer University Games in Kamchiya.
The football and beach tennis matches attracted the most interest and emotion. Eight teams competed in the first group stage of football, and after the matches on August 27, it will be determined which of them will advance to the semifinals.
The group stage matches in beach tennis also concluded successfully. Over 40 pairs competed for medals in this discipline, with the final to be played on the last competition day of the Summer Games.
28 teams participated in the group stage of beach volleyball, with the most decisive victories among men achieved by teams from Technical University - Sofia, Medical University - Varna, and SU, while among women, the teams from UNSS, TU - Sofia, Shumen University, and University of Economics - Varna stood out.
At the end of the competition day, the best swimmers in the nine swimming disciplines were awarded. The gold in the women's 50m freestyle was won by Hristina Damyanova from Sofia University, while in the men's category, it went to Alexander Nikolov from University of Economics - Varna.
In the women's 100m breaststroke, Liliya Lipcheva from SU achieved the best result, while the gold medal in the men's category went to Deyan Gachev from Technical University - Sofia. In the 50m backstroke, Hristina Damyanova and Alexander Nikolov were again the best. In the women's 200m individual medley, Liliya Lipcheva won her second gold medal, as did Deyan Gachev in the men's category.
In the 4x50m freestyle mixed relay, the UNSS team showed the best result, with silver going to Technical University - Sofia, and bronze to Sofia University.

The Varna medics are the best in table tennis at the University Games on Kamchia
Representatives of the Medical University Varna won the gold in the overall team ranking of table tennis at the ongoing IV Summer University Games near the mouth of the Kamchia River. Silver goes to the Technical University Sofia, and bronze to the Sofia University. The final matches for men and women are upcoming, after which the individual winners will be clear.
The group stages in team sports have already concluded. In football, the teams of UASG and TU, as well as the team of LTU, which has not conceded a goal so far, advance to the semi-finals against the boys from IU - Varna. MU - Sofia and VTU will play for fifth place, while the teams of NBU and SU will play for seventh place. The finals, which are expected to attract the most interest, will be played tomorrow on the beach in front of the Sanatorium and Health Complex "Kamchia".
In beach volleyball, men and women will have new champions this year. Competitive finals at the Summer University Games in Kamchia
The final matches in the individual disciplines, held on the last two days of the Summer University Games in Kamchiya, were extremely contested and attractive.
The dramatic football match between the teams of University of Forestry and Technical University, with a red card and a lot of hot support from the audience, ultimately ended 1:0 in favor of TU - Sofia. For the bronze medals, the boys from University of Economics - Varna fought for a 1:0 win, while UASG came in fourth.
In women's beach volleyball, Shumen University took third place, having been champion for three years in the Summer University Games so far. The match between ShU and TU - Sofia ended 2:0. A very contested match was played for gold between the teams of UNSS and University of Economics - Varna. The match ended with a tiebreak in favor of UNSS, who for the first time in the history of the Games won the gold.
First place in men's volleyball was won by the team of Medical University - Varna with a decisive 2:0 against the First Team of TU - Sofia. For third place, the boys from Sofia University fought, defeating the Second Team of TU - Sofia 2:1.
