The teams from TU - Sofia are in the leading positions in the "HackAtoM" competition

On November 25 and 26, 2021, the student hackathon for nuclear energy "HackAtoM" was held for the second consecutive year. The event took place with the assistance of Rosatom, and the program included lectures by scientists from the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University, Tomsk Polytechnic University, Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University, Ural State Technical University, the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, and the Obninsk Institute for Nuclear Energy, reported by the Technical University – Sofia (TU – Sofia).Within a 24-hour period, the teams had the task of creating an interactive application aimed at promoting nuclear energy. TU – Sofia was represented by two teams of students from different years of the bachelor's program "Thermal Energy and Nuclear Energy" and the master's program "Nuclear Energy," who took the leading positions in the competition. First place was won by the team of Ivan and Vladimir Telkievi, Angel Ivanov, Vasil Uzunov, and Miroslav Petrov, who developed a mobile application. Second place was taken by Branomira Markova, Tsvetan Yovov, Aleksandar and Daniela Mihaylovi, Liliya Velikova, and Swilen Stanulov with their developed website.The jury for the competition consisted of Dmitry Samokhin and Aleksandr Nakhabov from the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI and Mladen Mitev, chairman of the Bulgarian Nuclear Society. The prizes for the winners and other participants were provided by the Russian atomic corporation Rosatom.
