Visit of H.E. Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan Temirtay Izbastin at the Technical University – Sofia

H.E. Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Bulgaria, Temirtay Izbastin, met with the Rector of the Technical University – Sofia, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ivan Králov. The bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Bulgaria in the field of higher education and scientific research were discussed at the meeting. Ambassador Temirtay Izbastin presented an honorary medal to the Rector of the Technical University – Sofia on the occasion of the 175th anniversary of the birth of Abai Kunanbaev – a Kazakh poet, philosopher, writer, composer, thinker, and public figure, the founder of Kazakh classical literature and the modern Kazakh language. Prof. Dr. Eng. Ivan Králov expressed gratitude for the high honor bestowed and presented H.E. Temirtay Izbastin with an honorary badge of the Technical University – Sofia. He emphasized that the relations between the Technical University – Sofia and the Kazakh Humanitarian-Legal Innovative University are successfully implemented through the Bulgarian-Kazakh Center for Exchange of Scientific and Technical Information and Study of the Kazakh Language. The Center has been operating for two years on the premises of TU – Sofia and has made a significant contribution to the development of friendly relations between the two peoples. The Ambassador of Kazakhstan expressed satisfaction with the successful operation of the Kazakh Center and his hope that after the end of the extraordinary situation in the world, the Center will operate even more intensively. Rector Ivan Králov assured that the Technical University – Sofia is always open to the science, national culture, and art of Kazakhstan and will be a hub for the exchange of ideas.
