Project "Science Squared" (ERC=Science2)

On February 25-26, 2019, Technical University – Sofia is hosting an interactive booth and organizing a series of events dedicated to the topic of Artificial Intelligence, as part of the project ERC=Science² ("Science Squared"), funded by the European Research Council. The events are organized in collaboration between the Association "Center for Research and Analysis", TU-Sofia, and the Institute of Mechanics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

The events aim to raise awareness about artificial intelligence (AI) by addressing issues such as programming, construction, and the benefits of robotics, for example: how to introduce AI into our social and economic life, how AI can improve our health, and what are the processes of creating and introducing various technologies, security systems, and others, as part of the technological development of society.

A special guest at the events is Dr. Stoyan Smoukov from Queen Mary University of London, who will share his experience in the field and work with the European Research Council.

ERC=Science² or the European Research Council "Science Squared" is a campaign that provides European countries with the latest scientific achievements in popular scientific fields, funded by the European Research Council and the impact that their results would have on our way of life.

SProject objectives:

1. Discussion on future technologies

2. Scientific lectures and practical seminars on contemporary topics in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics

3. Scientific seminars on the research activities of ERC beneficiaries

When: 25-26 February 2019; ERC=Science² The interactive booth will be open to visitors, students, teachers, researchers, and civil society.
