Deputy Minister of Education and Science Natalia Miteva participated in the opening of the tenth anniversary edition of the emblematic programming and teamwork competition – the hackathon at the Technical University "Electronic Systems" (TUES). For three days, 350 current students from grades 8 to 12 and another 50 alumni of the school developed their own software and hardware projects with the help of mentors, and on Saturday evening, the best among them will be awarded.
"Thank you for organizing such an event in such a format that shows why TUES is unique," said Natalia Miteva at the opening of the hackathon. She emphasized that one of the school's strengths lies precisely in this symbiosis between learning and practice. "Some of the reasons why TUES is such a good example of a school connected to real life and the future of technology lie in the fact that students can work with professionals on real projects," pointed out Natalia Miteva.
She expressed her gratitude to the representatives of business who work with TUES. Many of them, together with the Ministry of Education and Science, are involved in creating the vision for the digitalization of Bulgarian education. They also participated in the creation of the first guidelines for the use of artificial intelligence across the entire education system. "We must be on the front line – not only as users, but also as creators of these technologies that shape the future and can make Bulgaria a knowledge-based economy focused on added value," pointed out Natalia Miteva.
