About the project
Future wireless networks (FWN) will need to effectively and flexibly provide diverse services such as mobile broadband access, ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC), and massive machine-type communications. RECOMBINE brings together the scientific achievements and expertise of key academic and industrial teams in a collaborative effort to build the framework for designing FWN beyond 5G. This framework must be based on support for multiple operational standards that reflect the inherent heterogeneity of FWN, the ability to process information generated by a huge volume of heterogeneous sources, and have sufficient internal resilience to counter potential security threats. Within the RECOMBINE project, innovations will be developed in the field of mm-wave technologies, licensed spectrum access, antenna system design, channel modeling and propagation, and network state and operability prediction through the introduction of artificial intelligence. Additionally, RECOMBINE will integrate scientific and business innovations to build a framework for realizing the economic potential of FWN.
