About the project
Over the last decade, cyber-attacks have become increasingly complex, hidden, targeted, and multifaceted. As our society becomes more dependent on critical infrastructures - Critical INfrastructures (CIN), new technologies are needed to enhance our detection and response capabilities. Detecting and responding to such attacks from a highly motivated, skilled, and well-funded attacker proves to be extremely challenging. One of the most vulnerable and impactful critical infrastructures is the Smart Grid. A smart grid is a next-generation power system that encompasses self-healing, flexibility, resilience, and efficiency of the energy critical infrastructure. Securing smart grids against cyber-attacks, however, is vital for national security and public safety, as the collapse of energy production is linked to human lives, millions of euros, and days or even months of recovery.
