The Master’s program in “Mechanical Engineering Technology” provides a solid and in-depth education in fundamental and applied disciplines, through which students acquire the knowledge, skills, and habits necessary to create and develop both new products and systems and new technological processes in line with current trends in industrial production.

Master of Engineering

Graduates of the master’s program acquire the competencies to carry out research, design, engineering, technological, organizational-management, and consulting activities related to the field of study.

They are prepared to work as “master engineers” in enterprises and companies in the field of mechanical engineering in both the public and private sectors, as well as in research, design, and technology departments and laboratories, in consulting and commercial firms, and in government administration.

Admission to the “Mechanical Engineering Technology” program at the “Master’s” degree level is based on a review of application materials. Prospective students must have completed

a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in majors within the professional field 5.1. Mechanical Engineering – duration of study: 2 semesters;
a “Professional Bachelor’s” degree in majors within the professional field 5.1. Mechanical Engineering—duration of study: 4 semesters.

The “Mechanical Engineering Technology” program at the master’s level covers three groups of courses:

Required courses: Modeling of Manufacturing Processes in Mechanical Engineering, Nanomaterials and Nanotechnologies in Mechanical Engineering, Strength, Fracture, and Computational Engineering Analysis, Finishing Technologies, Reliability of Manufacturing Systems in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Economics;
Elective courses: Thermal Engineering and Technologies—Selected Chapters, Numerical Modeling and Analysis of Mechanical Systems, Welding Processes and Machines—Selected Chapters, Optimal Modular Design, Computer-Aided Design of Metalworking Equipment, CAD/CAE of Mechanical Structures, Business Planning, Innovation and Project Management;
Elective courses:E Team Management, Experimental Design in Engineering Research.

Graduates are awarded a “Master’s” degree in the major “Mechanical Engineering Technology” and the professional qualification “Master of Engineering” in professional field 5.1, Mechanical Engineering.

The Master’s degree is a prerequisite for continuing studies toward a doctoral degree both in Bulgaria and abroad.

Graduates can pursue careers in all sectors of the economy, science, and national and European administration that require a higher education degree in this field.
