"Science Days 2026" at the Technical University – Sofia were opened in Plovdiv

At the Technical University – Sofia – Plovdiv branch, the 15th International Scientific Conference "Technology, Technologies and Systems" — TECHSYS 2026, was opened. This also marked the official start of the traditional "Science Days" of the Technical University – Sofia.

Over 240 participants are taking part in TECHSYS 2026 – they present 99 scientific papers and developments in six key sections: Automation, control systems and robotics; Electrical engineering and electronics; Computer engineering, informatics and communications; Mechanical engineering; Automotive and aerospace engineering; Materials science.

This year also sees significant international participation – 63 foreign authors from 14 countries. The participation of students and PhD students is also growing.  

At the opening, the Rector of TU – Sofia, Prof. Georgi Venkov, stated that the development of the university's scientific activities is extremely important because it boosts its position in international ranking systems.

The Science Days of the Technical University – Sofia began on April 23 with Physics Days, but their official start was marked together with TECHSYS 2026. As part of this large-scale event, 34 scientific forums and initiatives are scheduled to take place.
