Visit of the Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to Bulgaria

The Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to Bulgaria, H.E. Jean Pierre Karabaranga, at his request, visited the University and conducted an introductory visit on 13.01.2017. The Director of the Directorate for International Exchange and Integration, Prof. Ivan Yachev, presented the structure and activities of the higher education institution and our successful international cooperation with universities from four continents.

The Ambassador, for his part, expressed a desire to establish contacts for cooperation in the field of science, technology, and education – exchange of teachers and students, including by utilizing the opportunities of EU programs to support Africa with funding for educational activities.

It was agreed that, following the upcoming conclusion of an official agreement between the two countries, an agreement would be signed with the Technical University of Rwanda.

The country is part of the East African Community, which unites the markets, visa regime, free movement, and free trade between the 120-million population of Kenya, Burundi, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda.
