The Technical University of Sofia joins a new European university

8 universities from EU countries, including the Technical University of Sofia, will create a joint European Technological University. The agreement was signed by the rectors at a meeting in Limassol. The future structure will unite nearly 100,000 students from Bulgaria, Cyprus, Latvia, France, Germany, Ireland, Spain, and Romania. They will be able to conduct part of their studies at the other universities. The goal is to strengthen scientific research, innovations, and improve links with the business industry. Representatives of the student communities from the 8 universities also signed a declaration for the creation of the "Student Union of the European Technological University".
