

More than half of those who applied for an internship or job in the telecom sector have already been approved. 31 students from the Technical University of Sofia successfully completed the twelfth edition of the "Vivacom Technical Academy". They are third and fourth-year students in the specialties "Computer Systems and Technologies", "Telecommunications" and "Electronics". The Technical Academy is a program lasting 2 academic semesters, covering seven lecture courses and exercises led by experts from various fields at Vivacom and lecturers at TU - Sofia. The lectures started in online format and ended in person, and the schedule was fully aligned with the university students' program. Some of the courses studied are Project Management, Technical English, Software Products and Databases, Strategy and Development of Telecommunication Networks, Commercial Solutions, Legal Framework and Regulation of Telecommunications, and others. "For 8 months, key employees of Vivacom and university lecturers trained the young engineers and helped them gain valuable practical experience to consolidate their theoretical knowledge. I am glad to see how, during the training process, these young people develop and build their qualities to become professionals. At Vivacom, we willingly support various educational initiatives because we believe that good education is the foundation of a good career path," said Sylvia Ilieva, Senior HR Manager. To date, more than half of the students who applied for an internship or job at Vivacom have been approved or hired. Their number is expected to increase due to upcoming interviews. After a nearly two-year pause due to the pandemic situation, this year the students had the opportunity to visit one of the company's strategic facilities, namely "Teleport Plan", where the first transmitting satellite antenna in Bulgaria was installed. This exceptional ground station for satellite links is home to many world-renowned antennas. "Vivacom Technical Academy" is one of the largest projects implemented jointly with the Technical University - Sofia. The goal of the project is to build a link between education and business, to meet theory with practice, supporting students on their path to professional realization in the corporate world. Successful graduates receive a certificate from the "Vivacom Technical Academy", which supports the formation of the master's grade and scholarship and when applying for a job or internship, their applications are considered with priority.
